Military authorities at the army headquarters garrison, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja, on Tuesday, arraigned five more soldiers on mutiny charges.
it was gathered that the soldiers were arraigned on two-count charge of conspiracy to commit mutiny and mutiny, as part of ongoing trial of soldiers from the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, Borno State.
These set of soldiers were alleged to have committed the offences in October 2013.
They were alleged to have committed the offences when they fired into the air, after recieving news of the killings of their colleagues by Boko Haram, during counter-terrorism operations in the North-East.
The five soldiers, all Lance Corporals, pleaded not guilty to the offences, it was gathered on Tuesday.
The soldiers are being represented by the lead defence counsel, Femi Falana, among others.
Army authorities had barred journalists from covering the ongoing trial of soldiers brought from the 7 Division of the Nigeria Army in Maiduguri, after 59 soldiers were recently arraigned on similar charges.
