Dozens of Boko Haram gunmen have attacked the police station
in Nafada Local Government, looting its weaponry before burning down the
station.
The attack occurred few minutes after 2pm,
According to a witness who spoke with TheCable on
phone, the gunmen operated without
resistance because the policemen on duty fled for their lives.
“A group of Boko Haram members attacked the police station,
went away with all the weapons in there, and burnt it down. There was no
casualty because all the policemen ran away,” he said.
The attack comes only four days after the group detonated a
bomb at Gombe Line Transport Service (also known as Central Park), Cross,
Gombe, killing at least 30 people and injuring a dozen others.
The police later said it arrested three people suspected to
have planted the bomb, just before they escaped.
