He said that the accused conspired to defraud their
employer, Justfood Reliable Solution and Equipment Company of N6 million.
“The accused, being the sales representative of company,
stole N6million proceeds from the sales of goods.
Olatunde said that the fraud was discovered after an audit
exercise carried out by the company.
“It was discovered that the fraudulent act was done within a
period of 12months”.
He said that the accused also forged customers’ signatures
on the company invoices with intent that it might be used or acted on as
genuine to collect goods out of company.
“They also falsified invoices to cover their fraudulent
act,” the prosecutor said.
The offences, Olatunde said, contravened Sections 285, 323,
312 and 410 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Section 312 prescribes 15- year jail term as penalty for
obtaining goods by false pretences.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the offences and were
granted bail each in the sum of N1 million with two sureties each in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola, adjourned the case till
Nov. 13 for mention. (NAN)
