Sen. Babajide Omoworare (APC-Osun) on Monday urged the new
Chairman of All Progressives Congress in Osun, Mr Gboyega Famodun, to
consolidate on the legacies inherited from his predecessors.
Omoworare gave the advice in a statement in Osogbo.
‘’I wish to admonish the leaders to work as a formidable
team to consolidate the legacies of the immediate past executives and improve
on them for the good and political fortune of all.
‘’The newly assumed responsibilities must be seen as a call
to service and a challenge to move our party to the next level, especially at
this period.
Omoworare said the new chairman had a big challenge of
ensuring that the party won the 2015 election in the state, just as it did in
the 2011 election.
”‘The wealth of experience and administrative acumen of
Famodun is most potent ingredient needed to move the party to greater heights
at the political juncture.
‘’I am bold to say that the new crop of APC executives in
Osun are not products of political accident but of a breed that is thorough and
schooled in the philosophy of progressive politics,’’ Omoworare said.
The new APC Chairman, Famodun, was until his election, the
Secretary of the party in Osun.
Famodun had on Saturday said the state executive of the
party resolved as true democrats, to ensure openness, fairness and
level-playing ground within the party.
According to him, “we are prepared to listen to others and
consult other party leaders and members from time to time.
“We will not be sectional, but we will be sensitive to the
different backgrounds and orientations of party members.’’ (NAN)
