Tinubu Flown To London For Medical Treatment

All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was flown to London on  Friday for  medical treatment, Daily Trust gathered yesterday.

An aide said he was flown out in his private jet as his ailing health deteriorated.
Our correspondent gathered that Tinubu is suffering from an ailment which affects his posture and balance as well his movement, speech and writing. He is said to have been managing the ailment for almost a decade.

“He has been manifesting symptoms of Parkinson disease which include tremor, shaky limbs, hands and fingers, slow movement, impaired posture and balance and loss of automatic movements,” said a close aide.

The aide added that the APC leader also has another undisclosed disease which is being managed at a specialist hospital in Houston, USA. His withdrawal from vying for the presidency as retired General Muhammadu Buhari’s deputy in next year’s presidential poll is said to be as result of the failing health, the source said.

APC top shots in the state and at the national level kept mum on the health status of their national leader when contacted on the issue.
It would be recalled that some weeks ago, online reports had it that Tinubu was down with stroke and was flown to Europe for medical treatment.

The story, which was also published by some national dailies, had it that Tinubu’s health situation was so bad that he could not recognise his family members. Aides and friends tried to control reports on the development until he returned to the country a few weeks ago.

Before his return, Tinubu tweeted to debunk reports of his ill health. “The story about my health is the mother of all lies. Do not believe it. I was on my usual holidays. I thank all well wishers. I’ll return soon,” he said on his Twitter handle. The aide said he was accompanied by his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu and the former national chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande.
