After a woman suddenly collapsed and died from a heart
attack on a street in Shenyang, Liaoning province, her husband rushed to the
scene and, too late to say goodbye, cradled her body for two hours before they
were taken away.
The middle-aged woman died of a sudden heart attack as she
was on her way to a pharmacy for medicine on Wednesday evening in the city's
Hunnan district, according to NetEase. Witnesses said that she was conscious
for a bit, but not long enough to give out her family's phone number. Police
found their contact information on a medical card in her pocket, and her
63-year-old husband, surnamed He, rushed over.
In a heartbreaking scene, He refused to let go of his wife's
body until his son arrived. As temperatures dropped to -15°C, his hands began
turning red. Onlookers supplied him with gloves and a large piece of cardboard
to sit on, gently urging the man to leave the cold street before he fell sick.
“It’s all right. I will stay with her longer and the car
(from my son) is on the way," he said. He's son arrived two hours later,
and they left together.
Images of the scene were posted to Weibo, where thousands of
netizens shared the photos and expressed their respect.
“Life is too short. May you meet each other in your next
life,” user "simazaguanggang" said.
Another netizen wrote: “For each farewell, please take it
seriously. Say one more word, have one more glimpse, and it may be the last
one. ”
